The sociology faculty at Kutztown University bring a wealth of diverse experiences to the classroom. All have advanced academic degrees in sociology from some of the nation's outstanding universities.

    We are dedicated to helping students attain the best possible education by providing the inspiration guidance and personal attention that will make their experience in the Department a turning point in their lives.

    We offer sociological courses such as theory, urban sociology, research methods and stratification. In addition, we have a variety of courses in such areas as white-collar crime, society and technology, and complex organizations.

    Students are encouraged to seek out internships where they can apply classroom knowledge to practical situations, and where they can explore career options firsthand. Recently, our students have had internships with local police departments, corporations, and social service organizations.
