Cara Sanfilippo, MS, LPC, NCC, Department Chair, Temporary Faculty Counselor

Cara is a Certified Trauma Competent Professional and Trauma Certified Workshop Facilitator. Cara also has an extensive history of working with adults and adolescents in a variety of settings. Cara is very passionate about advocating for mental health and suicide prevention and helped start the Aevidum Club for all Schuylkill County Middle and High Schools.

Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology and Human Services from Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, PA. Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist from American Hypnosis Training Academy, Silver Spring, MD. Certified Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapist from Philadelphia Child and Family Therapy Training Center, Inc., Philadelphia, PA.

Anthony B. Jefferson, Sr., MA, LPC, Temporary Faculty Counselor (Part-Time)

       Education:

     University/Community Service:

Anthony is a veteran who served in the Persian Gulf War. His work history includes residential and out-patient clinical services and faculty instruction in higher education. He has extensive experience working with diverse populations and is involved in spiritual and grief counseling in his community.

Matt Shollenberger, Ph.D., LPC, Temporary Faculty Counselor

     Education:

  • Ph.D., Counselor Education, Virginia Tech
  • M.Ed., Counselor Education, Kutztown University
  • B.A., Sociology & Psychology, Kutztown University 

     University/Community Service:

Dr. Shollenberger has three decades of diverse experience in most all genres of mental health counseling. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses for a dozen colleges and universities.

Cèsar Velásquez, Jr., MS, LPC, NCC, Temporary Faculty Counselor

Education:

  • M.A., School Counseling with Licensure, Kutztown University
  • B.A., Business Administration- Accounting, Kutztown University

Cèsar is a Kutztown Alumni, obtaining both undergraduate and graduate degrees from here at Kutztown University. Cèsar previously worked as a school counselor at a high school and as a therapist for an outpatient facility. Cèsar specializes in anxiety and depression.
