Description

Founded in 1997, the Presidential Ambassadors is a Kutztown University student organization that works directly with the President's Office and the Kutztown University Foundation and Alumni Engagement.


The mission of the Presidential Ambassadors is to support events that connect current students with alumni, faculty, staff and University friends, acting as ambassadors of the University, helping to enhance KU Pride and create new traditions. The Presidential Ambassadors are advised by a representative from the Office of the President and the Director of Alumni Engagement.

Event Participation

Philanthropy

The Presidential Ambassadors partake in fundraising initiatives to give back to Kutztown University. Their major fundraiser is the Presidential Ambassador Tuition Sweepstakes. This initiative results in a one semester tuition waiver, for a current Kutztown University student as well as other various donations dispersed throughout the University community. All other proceeds from this fundraiser financially support the organization's annual activities.

Qualifications

In order to become a Presidential Ambassador you must meet the following qualifications:

1. GPA of 2.75 or higher
2. Good judicial standing
3. All University student fees paid
4. Ability to attend required, regular meetings (every other Thursday evening)
5. Commitment to attend at least 3 events per semester as well as all mandatory events

Application Process

Interviews will be held one time near the end of each semester. All forms and samples can be found on the Presidential Ambassador's KUNITED site under documents: https://kunited.kutztown.edu/organization/ambassadors/documentlibrary.

1. Submit a completed application
2. Submit a cover letter and resume
   
3. Submit two letters of recommendations (from University Faculty or Staff, or former employers)
4. Complete a successful interview
