Graduate Organization of Bands

The Kutztown University Graduate Organization of Bands was formed in 1972 with two important goals in mind. The first was to support the KU Band Program. The second was to maintain the strong friendships that were developed while at Kutztown in the band. Many years later, these goals are still the cornerstone of our organization. Through the years various programs have been developed to support the band program such as the annual fall Dinner Dance to honor the marching unit and its graduating seniors and the scholarship programs which award monetary scholarships to deserving band members. Social programs such as Homecoming, the Alumni Jazz Band, and participation in various concerts help to keep friends "in touch" despite the miles that separate us. These functions also give graduates an excuse to keep the horn handy and maybe even play once in a while. Another aspect of the GOBs is the bi-annual newsletter that is published to keep members informed about upcoming events, fund raising activities, good & welfare news about our membership, and information about the band program at Kutztown.
