CLEP TEST CENTER

The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) allows both traditional and non-traditional students to earn college credit by examination. It enables students to demonstrate the knowledge and mastery they've acquired through independent study, academic interests, or on-the-job training. Five General Examinations cover course material usually required in the first two years of college. Twenty-four Subject Examinations cover material from a wide range of courses in the fields of Literature, Foreign Languages, History, Social Science, Mathematics, Science and Economics. When you earn qualifying scores on these examinations, as acceptable by Kutztown University, you can move beyond the introductory level course work to more advanced courses.

• * The tests are currently administered via computer in Building 1, Tek Park, Room 1A150, 9999 Hamilton Blvd., Breinigsville PA by appointment.
  * CLEP examinations require 90 minutes of test time plus approximately 30 minutes of preparation time.
  * Students who take the subject examination Freshman College Composition (ENG 023) will also be required to take a 90 minute written essay**.
  * Test fees are as follows:

• $15 fee per test payable to Kutztown University at the time of registration. (check or money order only)
  $65($70 effective July 1st, 2008) fee per test payable to CLEP at the time test is administered. (Credit cards preferred - either Visa, Mastercard, Discover, JCB, or American Express).  Check or money order are also accepted.
  $5 fee payable to Kutztown University at the time of official Kutztown University notification.
  **Additional $10 fee is required for essay portion of the Freshman College Composition exam.
