The Advising Center for Undeclared Students at Kutztown University opened in the fall of 1998 in response to a growing awareness of the special needs of students who enter the University with the desire to explore academic majors and related careers before committing to a course of study. The Advising Center employs volunteer advisors from a number of academic departments at the University who are committed to assisting students with exploring academic majors and addressing academic needs.
Mission
The Advising Center is committed to meeting the special advising needs of students without declared academic majors by:
- Meeting regularly with students to develop an understanding of unique abilities, interests and experiences in academic, social and personal arenas.
- Assisting with the selection of appropriate courses related to career interests and goals
- Helping students access campus resources and support services based on specific needs
- Exploring the academic majors offered at Kutztown University and related careers
- Helping students understand and navigate University policies and procedures
