Foreign Language

The Foreign Language Education program offers students the opportunity to study the following certification fields: French, German, Russian and Spanish. A graduate of the Foreign Language program will be able to:
Understand the spoken language at normal conversational speed.

Speak the language at normal conversational speed.

Read the language with comprehension.

Write the language in an idiomatically acceptable form.

Demonstrate in a teaching situation (on all levels) effective skills in understanding,
speaking, reading and writing the language.

Demonstrate the ability to analyze and interpret representative works of literature.

Guide pupils of the language in the analysis and interpretation of its literature.

Demonstrate and interpret through history and fine arts insights into the culture and
civilization of the native people.

Guide pupils to insights into the culture and civilization of the native people.

Demonstrate the ability to adapt to the contemporary cultural setting.
