Advisement

Elementary Education teacher candidates will meet with their advisors at least once each semester. At the first advisement appointment during the first semester, the advisor will review the following topics: the Praxis Test Series; the requirements for Observation in the Field (see below); the schedule and procedures for Professional Semester; and, the assignments and procedures for the Clinical Experience and Practicum.

Advisors will explain the field observations requirement and provide teacher candidates with a journal entitled "Guidelines for Fulfilling Field Observation Requirements." The hours must be documented by February  1 for Fall professional semester and by September 2 for Spring professional semester. Registration for professional semester classes will be blocked if these requirements are not met.
