The MPH program operates in conjunction with the Elementary Education program curriculum. Students complete a full sequence of elementary education course work in addition to their specialized course work in MPH. Student teaching experiences are provided in two settings: one in a regular elementary school and the second in a special education setting. MPH program graduates are certified to teach in regular elementary programs and special education programs (K-8) for students with mental retardation, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, or behavior disorders (K-12). This dual certification format is a unique feature of the Kutztown University program.
