Jonathan Kremser joined the Criminal Justice Program in the fall of 2003.
He is a former U.S. Navy weapons instructor, and has developed and conducted classroom and field firearms courses for numerous military personnel as well as Department of Defense police. He continues to train with nationally and internationally recognized experts in combatives and tactics.
His previous research interests have focused on secondary school violence and disciplinary policies in Ontario, Canada. His current academic and research interests include school safety initiatives and legislation, street-level interventions targeting young offenders, urban crime control, and critical theory. He has presented papers on school discipline policy and urban crime control at many professional conferences in the U.S. and Canada.
