Dr. Plouffe was a police officer and has been a practicing attorney in the fields of criminal law and civil rights in both state and federal courts. He has worked for a number of federal and state judges. He is licensed to practice law in numerous state and federal jurisdictions, up to and including the United States Supreme Court. He has authored and edited a number of academic and professional articles and books concerning philosophy, law, the courts and criminal justice.
His interest includes: criminal law and procedure, constitutional law, civil rights, terrorism and national security, criminal justice ethics, international law, policing, judicial process, and legal and political philosophy.
Dr. Plouffe studied international law in Florence, Italy and holds a Certificate in International Law. He served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard in the infantry and special operations, with a specialty of Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical warfare. He has previously taught philosophy at the University of Arkansas, criminal justice at the University of Memphis, and legal research and information management for LEXIX/NEXIS.
