Study Abroad World in Hands

Fourteen overseas programs are available through the University. A student can earn credit through coursework, internships or work study programs.

Austria/Southern Germany: Interested in a Summer Study Program in Austria and Germany? Then Study and Travel as you participate in the KU Summer Program in Austria/Southern Germany! After four exciting days in Munich and traveling to sites in Bavaria, the Program moves to its home base in Telfes, Austria. Telfes, a scenic alpine village in the Stubai valley 15 kilometers south of Innsbruck, will serve as headquarters for class instruction, site visits, and excursions. Classes are taught by Kutztown University professors. For more information visit the Program's information page.

Costa Rica: Kutztown University provides students the opportunity to study and/or intern at The Institute for Central American Development Studies (ICADS) in either Costa Rica or Belize. KUICADS offers a full-semester program, a 10-week summer program, and also a one-month intensive Spanish language program, available throughout the year. Ecuador: KU's newest study abroad program is at the Universidad Del Azuay in Cuenca, Ecuador. This four-week long summer program allows students to earn up to six credits while studying the Spanish language. The program introduces students to the Ecuadorian culture by providing interactions between the students and educators in the areas of social issues, economics, politics, immigration, ecology and biodiversity. England: The University also offers overseas programs in England. The College of Business works in partnership with Buckinghamshire College. The College of St. Mark and St. John in Plymouth offers exchanges for students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Exchanges are also available with Lancaster University (Charlotte Mason Campus) for majors in elementary education and special education.  The University of Gloucestershire (Pittville Campus) in Cheltenham offers exchanges for those interested in Fine Arts as well as other subjects.

Summer Study in Mexico: This program is a 17-day course; students visit three colonial cities in central Mexico-- Queretaro, Guanajuato and San Miguel. Students will participate in The Traveler's Sketchbook: Drawing on Location in Mexico. For more information please contact the Department of Communication Design 610-683-4525.

Russia: The University works in conjunction with the Diplomatic Academy of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation in Moscow for students interested in learning about current events in Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union.

Spain: Kutztown University also offers the Valladolid Program in Spain. This program is an intensive five-week, six credit hour study of the Spanish language and culture at the Universidad de Valladolid in Valladolid, Spain. It allows you to spend part of your summer experiencing the real Spain in your home stay with families and gives you the opportunity to go on three day-long excursions to exciting sites. Additional exchange programs are available, so please visit our program listing for more information. Student exchange programs at PreCarpathian University in Ukraine and Yantai University in China are under development.

KU is also a member of the College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS), a consortium of colleges and universities sponsoring more than 75 study abroad programs.
