    A native of San Diego, Dr. Jeremy Justeson received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a Masters of Music degree from Northwestern University.
    Dr. Justeson currently serves as the Director of the Wind Ensemble, Marching Unit, and Single Reed Studio at Kutztown University. Dr. Justeson held a prior appointment at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and taught in award-winning instrumental music programs for several years in the Texas public school system. Dr. Justeson has studied with renowned conductors including John P. Paynter, Dr. Mitch Fennell and Jerry Junkin.

    Dr. Justeson has performed as an orchestral soloist and recitalist across the United States. In addition, he has appeared as a member of the San Antonio Symphony, Dallas Wind Symphony, Allentown Symphony, and the Aspen Festival Orchestra. Jeremy Justeson’s performances have been broadcast on radio and television throughout the United States, Europe, and Australia. He has won first place awards in many young artist contests including the Sorantin International Young Artists Competition and the Kingsville International Young Performers Competition.

    His versatility as a woodwind performer not only encompasses the entire saxophone family, but also includes the clarinet. This versatility is evident in the various musical genres in which he performs; such as, musical theater, rock and roll, and contemporary classical music. Jeremy Justeson’s primary saxophone teachers have included Dr. Frederick L. Hemke, James Rötter, and Harvey Pittel. He has also studied with clarinetists from the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

    A proponent of new music, Jeremy Justeson has premiered numerous pieces and has worked with many of the day’s leading composers including Phillip Glass, Donald Grantham, John Harbison, Karel Husa, David Maslanka, James Mobberly, Gunther Schuller, Rob Smith, David Del Tredici, and Dan Welcher. Jeremy Justeson’s debut CD, Juggernaut, featuring the works of American composers is available on the Equilibrium label, and is distributed nationally by Albany Music to Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and Tower Records.
