Mary Angela Bock is a former journalist turned academic, finishing her PhD at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her first Masters Degree at Drake University in 1986. Her dissertation focuses on the development of a convergent media form, video journalism, using a series of ethnographic case studies. She and her advisor, Klaus Krippendorff edited an anthology of articles reflecting the development and application of Content Analysis. She advises groups in and outside of the academy on media strategy, as a volunteer and occasional speaker. It is her goal to blend her teaching and academic research with real-world experience.
She lives in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time she knits, sews, swims and writes mediocre poetry. |
