The Business Common Body of Knowledge
The Kutztown University MBA program requires that each student acquire basic competencies in the business common body of knowledge so that each has the skills and knowledge to complete his or her MBA courses successfully. This common body of knowledge includes the following areas:
- Financial Accounting
- Statistics
- Microeconomics
- Calculus
- Marketing
- Financial Management
Our MBA program applicants come from a wide variety of academic and professional backgrounds. Upon your initial contact with us, we review your transcript to let you know where you stand with respect to the common body of knowledge. Students with undergraduate degrees in business will have completed most or all of the foundation courses. Students with other undergraduate majors have many options for acquiring their foundation.
- You may take courses at either KU or other colleges.
- We offer non-credit condensed common body of knowledge courses on a regular basis, usually on Saturdays. Most of these courses presume that you have some academic background or practical experience in the topic.
The MBA course director or your academic advisor will work with you to design a plan that works well for you. |
