Dr. Mary Ann Dailey, Department of Nursing, was elected to the position of Secretary, Board of Directors, for the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA) at their Annual Summit meeting, held in Harrisburg from October 18 -20, 2007. For the past year, she has served as an elected board member for PSNA, the professional organization for nurses in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Paula Holoviak, Department of Political Science, was chosen as Commonwealth Speaker for the Pennsylvania Humanities Council for 2008-2009.
James C. Matejik, RN, MSN, CRRN, Department of Nursing, October 2007, has been invited to serve as a member of the steering committee for the Southeastern region of the Area on Aging and Adult Services. The purpose of this steering committee will be to build a new aging coalition for the South East Region of Pennsylvania and develop a model to be used elsewhere
Dr. Marilyn Meder, Department of Nursing, has been invited to serve as a Parish Nurse for St. Paul’s Parish in Allentown. She has also been invited to serve the Allentown Diocese Advisory Board and has been asked to write several sections of the Parish Nurse Policy and Procedure Manual which will guide the implementation and management of Parish Nurse Ministries in the Allentown Diocese.
Dr. Deborah A. Sieger, Department of Criminal Justice, was honored for outstanding performance and lasting contributions to Women’s Equality in Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Organization for Women at its 35th Annual Convention in Pittsburgh on October 13, 2007.
Dr. Pietro Toggia, Department of Criminal Justice, has been invited to serve as a panel chair on "Critical Perspectives on Criminal Justice Knowledge" at the American Society of Criminology in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, November 15, 2007
Dr. Robert C. Ziegenfus, Professor of Geography, received a meritorious citation from the Senate of Pennsylvania for his leadership of the Berks County Agricultural Land Preservation Board at the Board’s 50,000 Acres Preserved Celebration. October 19, 2007.
Dr. Robert C. Ziegenfus, Professor of Geography and Faculty Athletics Representative, was elected to the position of Division II Vice President on the Faculty Athletic Representative Association’s Executive Board during the Faculty Athletics Representative Association Annual Meeting and Symposium.
