Dr. William C. Plouffe, Department of
Criminal Justice, gave a presentation at Harvard Law
School on civil rights and practice before the U.S.
Supreme Court. The class was U.S. Supreme Court
Practice and the lead professor was Lawrence Tribe,
one of the foremost authorities in the United States on
Constitutional Law. The presentation included a brief
review of the case involving the torture of an arrestee
by local police in the South, the legal issues involved
in the case, an introduction to civil rights law and
practice in the South, and an introduction to judicial
corruption concerning civil rights cases. It was well
received and generated much debate and numerous
questions.
