Kutztown University offers a combination of traditional as well as modern programs designed to meet the various needs for students interested in French and Francophone languages and cultures.

Study Abroad
Student wishing to study in France or a Francophone country during their junior year have a choice of several study abroad programs in which Kutztown University participates. Early planning with study abroad advisor is essential.

Teaching Assistantships
The French Ministry of Education is hiring 1700 American students to teach English 12 hours a week in primary and secondary schools in France every academic year.
Eligibility: be 20-30 and enrolled in an American college. Salary and free visa provided, enough spare time to still pursue studies simultaneously (Higher Education is virtually free in France).

French Programs on TV
The Cultural Services of the French Embassy provides, free of charge, interesting, high-quality cultural and educational television programming to television stations, cable and satellite networks and access channels nationwide. You will find on our web site descriptions of the shows and educational series as well as related study guides.

Grants
Please feel free to contact one of our regional representatives should you wish to submit a special educational project to promote the French language and culture in the United States. Co-funding from the French Embassy is available and our deadline for 2009 grant application is October 1st, 2008. Feel free to call the nearest cultural Bureau for more information.

DELF • DALF examinations
Offered by the French Ministry of Education to learners of French everywhere in the world, the DELF-DALF curriculum leads to an international diploma of French.

Two examination sessions are organized in the United States each year. The next session will take place in October and November of 2008 (Located in Philadelphia or Lebanon, PA). There are about a dozen examination centers in the country.
