Kutztown University's Language Resource Center, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Modern Language Association (PSMLA), will be hosting a L2 Tech Day on April 14, 2012 for K-16 language educators.
The theme of our 2012 L2 Tech Day is "Communication with Communities." The focus is on the skillful use of technology for developing the interpersonal, presentation and interpretive skills for communicating in language communities: the classroom, the school community, the broader community and geographically-separated communities (i.e., other schools, other communities both in the U.S. and abroad).
Workshops will introduce synchronous and asynchronous tools and sample lessons that will develop students oral and written communication skills. These tools will be introduced through sample lessons designed to connect students to others. Participants will be given time to try the tools during the workshop sessions, and they will be given time to work with peers to create a lesson plan of their own using one or more of the tools with the guidance and feedback of workshop leaders.
