Language Assistance
LRC staff are available to students during scheduled hours of operation, for both technical and language assistance. Most of our student assistants are advanced students or native speakers of Chinese, French, German or Spanish.
Student assistants can offer assistance with pronunciation, grammar, writing compositions, vocabulary, phraseology, and of course, the technology being used. Ask, they are happy to help!
If you would like to stop by the lab while a student assistant is available for your language of study, view the hours when assistance is available in the different languages.
Tutoring
If tutoring is needed, however, we do encourage students to seek tutoring through Tutoring Services, Rohrbach Library 27, as it is often difficult for our assistants to devote half-hour or hour blocks of time during their shifts.
Students are still encouraged to meet their tutor in the LRC. We have a small, quiet room just off the lab, if you prefer a private space, or you are welcome to sit at the table in 107 or at any of the computers. The advantage to meeting in the LRC is that we have many resources for studying, learning and teaching including web resources, alternative textbooks, dictionaries and other language reference materials. No bulky bookbags required.
