Dr. Mary Ann Dailey, chairperson of the Department of Nursing, teaches nursing research and leadership in the RN-BSN program, nursing theory and health policy in the graduate nursing program and coordinates the school nursing certification program and teaches the school nursing course. Her area of clinical expertise is in medical-surgical nursing and health policy. Additionally, she has completed research in the areas of RN-BSN education and chronic illness in nursing students.
A former three-term member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1998 - 2004), Dr. Dailey served as a legislative member on the Boards of the PA Trauma Systems Foundation and the PA Patient Safety Authority. In 2006, she was elected to the Board of the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA), and in 2007 elected as secretary of the board. She also serves as a member of the PSNA Government Relations Committee. Since 2005, Dr. Dailey has served as the Founding President of Community Health and Dental Care, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides for the health care needs of the underinsured, uninsured and insured individuals residing in the Greater Pottstown area. Additionally, she serves on the board of the Pottstown Health and Wellness Foundation and was a former board member for the Visiting Nurses Association of Pottstown and Vicinity.
