Special Admissions Requirements
Special admissions requirements are in place for certain Liberal Arts and Science degrees.
B.S. in Biology / Pre-Professional
B.S. in Medical Technology
This program requires that students have 2.75 QPA and 1100 or more in the SAT score.
B.S. in Computer Science: Information Technology track *
B.S. in Computer Science: Software Development track *
B.S. in Mathematics *
These programs require that incoming students have 500 or more in the Math SAT score.
* Computer Science and Math also have an internal transfer policy that allows students with Math SAT scores below 500 to transfer into Computer Science and Math after the students in question achieve at least a 2.25 GPA at KU. This can happen after the first semester at KU.
Combined B.S./M.S. Program in Computer Science
This program requires that a student have 60 credits taken at KU and at least 8 courses taken in the computer science program with an overall GPA of 3.00 or higher in those courses. As such, the Combined BS / MS Program is not available to incoming freshmen. Students have to wait until at least their Junior year.
B.S. in Nursing (B.S.N.)
Nursing studies is an upper-division program. This means that the program is not available to secondary school graduates, but rather to students who have completed a Nursing School Program and are registered nurses. Nursing students must submit an official copy of the R.N. program and a copy of their R.N. Certificate from the school of nursing they attended. A secondary school record is required.
