1 To access D2L:
- Open a web browser and navigate to the Kutztown University homepage (http://www.kutztown.edu).
- Click the Current Students button on the left.
- Click on the link for Desire2Learn (D2L) in the Student Tools column.
2 To log into D2L:
- Enter your username in the username field. Your D2L username is the same as your Kutztown network id, or username. This username is the first part of your email address (without the @live.kutztown.edu).
- Enter your password in the password field. If you have forgotten your password, click the "Forgot Password" link. Your password will be emailed to your KU email address.
- If you are logging in to D2L for the first time, see the instructions on this "Passwords" page of this tutorial.
3 To access your D2L course:
- Click the name of the course you wish to access from the course widget box (shown below) on the D2L homepage.
4 D2L Navigation:
If you used Blackboard previously, you'll notice that D2L has Navigation Bar composed of hyperlinks such as "Course Home," "Content," "Discussions," etc. You'll learn more about these as you read through this tutorial.
The "Course Home" link is the first link in every KU D2L course. Click this link to return to the course home page. The course home page contains:
- The "Events" widget, which can be used to display course events.
- The "Calendar" widget, which can be clicked to access the course schedule.
- The "News" widget, which displays course information and course announcements posted by your professor.
- An "Updates" widget, that shows course updates such as new discussions forum postings.
- A "Bookmark" widget, that allows you to set your own course content bookmarks.
