FAR/ARU 505:
Pinhole Photography Workshop
July 15 - 26, 2013
KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY is pleased to offer "Pinhole Photo Workshop: Making Simple Cameras to Make Art." As life becomes more dependent upon the digital—low-tech and antique photo processes are enjoying a renaissance! In this workshop, artist/educators will discover the fun and creative possibilities of making cameras without lenses or batteries, out of ordinary objects such as shoe boxes and soda cans. No prior darkroom experience necessary to create distinctively ethereal, playful and sometimes surprising images. In addition to camera-making and basic darkroom printing, we will embark on shooting expeditions outside of the studio and employ a variety of techniques such as toning and hand-coloring to finalize our pinhole photographs. Slide lectures about contemporary pinhole photography will supplement our studio and darkroom work.
