KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY
is pleased to offer
ETCHING 2012.
This
Institute will focus on etching as a creative medium. Students
are encouraged to develop their own imagery within the
context of etching.
STUDY INSTITUTE PROGRAM
The institute is designed to offer two weeks of studio work, lectures, critical discussions, and individual consultations. The institute will meet 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday from August
13 through August 24, 2012. The institute will meet in the Printmaking Studio, Room 12G of the Sharadin Arts Building.
Class enrollment limited to 15 students. Limited
enrollment for Act 48 non-credit students.
INSTITUTE FACULTY
Evan D. Summer,
Coordinator, Professor of Art at Kutztown University.
Mr. Summer received
his MFA in printmaking from Yale University in 1975 and was
elected to the National Academy of Design in 1993.
He has exhibited
prints in over 100 national and international exhibitions
and has had numerous solo shows including exhibitions at the
Corcoran Gallery of Art (1999-2000), the Reading Public
Museum, Reading, PA (2001and 2005-06), Scuola Internazionale
di Grafica, Venice, Italy (2007) and the Guanlan Original
Printmaking Center in Guanlan, China (2010).
His work is in many
public collections including the National Gallery of Art,
Metropolitan Museum of Art, Corcoran Gallery of Art,
Brooklyn Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and
the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Rochelle Toner
is a Professor Emeritus at Tyler School of Art/Temple
University where she has been on the faculty since 1972 and
also served as Dean from 1989-2002.
Her work has been
widely exhibited and in 2010 she was honored by Southern
Graphics International with the Printmaker Emeritus Award.
She holds an MFA from the University of Illinois
where she also taught before coming to Tyler.
