Literally right in the middle of the city centre
is Stephansdom (called Steffl by the Viennese); Vienna's most prominent landmark.


Surrounded by shops and eateries it's somewhat strange to see such a marvelous religious building amidst the commerce. Then again, the idea of moving this cathedral after it underwent major contruction due to World War II bombings,
would be completely unheard of by the
Viennese. It has stood the test of time and
become a symbol of hope.
