points to lead the Kutztown University men’s basketball team
to a 99-64 season-opening win at Wilmington University

The
Kutztown University women's bowling team finished the weekend 5-1 at
its first Northeast Conference Meet at Sacred Heart
University.
Kayla Jones averaged 219 pins in six matches to lead the

Golden Bear Classic Central:
Melissa McQuade set a career high with 30
points Sunday and collected her second double-double as KU
opens season 2-0 after a sweep at the Golden Bear Classic.
KU defeated Pitt-Johnstown 86-72 Sunday after beating
Slippery Rock 66-51 Saturday.

Kemmerer wins ESU open, two others place: Joe
Kemmerer won the 133 pound bracket at the 2008 East
Stroudsburg Open on Saturday as the Kutztown University
wrestling team opened the 2008-09 season. Scott Snyder was
third and Chris Chambers was fifth for the Golden
Bears.

Steph Jeppesen set three LHU pool records and KU's women
defeated IUP for the first time. KU's men also deafted

14th at NCAA Division II Atlantic Regionals:
Joanna Horstmann
qualified for nationals and earned all-region honors with
teammate Hailey Dell as the KU women placed third.

(Pa.) scored 24 unanswered points in the second half to defeat
Kutztown 34-7 in the season finale for both teams.
