The "NO PRINCESS RULE"

Anyone familiar with the world of showing horses understands, and hopefully appreciates this idea. We do not need, nor will we tolerate, any individual who believes that their experience makes them better than others. We have built one of the largest, most successful equestrian teams in the area without having to deal with personality issues. We will continue to do so.

You might be a princess if…

1. You pout when told we ride in breeches and boots.
2. You start a sentence with "My trainer says..."
3. You tell us where you won your first…
4. You believe that pledging a sorority is more important than your riding lesson.
5. You ask, "Where's the indoor?"
6. Any animal you own is named "Pookie."
7. You wear custom 'Vogels and Tailoreds' to a lesson, and freak when a dog jumps on you.
8. If you don't understand #7, that's a good thing.
9. You can roll your eyes independently of each other.
10. You say "equitation" the same way you say "leper colony."
11. If Coach says something to you and you answer with #2, you're already gone.

These are just a few of the myriad of ways we decide if there is a 'Princess' among us. We have learned over the years that winning isn't everything, and that losing with style beats winning with snotty people any day.

Can you be a princess without being an "open" rider? Sure, we've found them in all experience levels. We expect everyone to help out, to be nice, and not to gossip. There are no tryouts for our team, and no dues. "No experience necessary" is not a catch phrase for us. We truly do love our beginners, and focus much of our attention on them. However, even beginners can and will be cut from the team for personality issues.

In plain English, "No bitches, witches, or snitches."
