Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) is an international association for professional educators founded in 1909. Members of PDK are committed professionals in all fields of education. The mission of Phi Delta Kappa International is to promote high-quality education, in particular publicly supported education, as essential to the development and maintenance of a democratic way of life. This mission is accomplished through leadership, research, and service in education. The Kutztown University of Pennsylvania chapter of PDK has been an enduring source of professional development and exchange of ideas for the community since it became a charter member in 1966.

 Phi Delta Kappa believes:

  • in publicly supported education.
  • that high-quality education for all is essential to the development and maintenance of a democratic way of life.
  • in upholding the ethical ideals of leadership, research, and service.
  • that leadership should be nurtured and developed.
  • that a dynamic organization incorporates the needs of its members, is responsive to the environment and trends, and changes as needed.
  • that diversity strengthens our association.
