Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority was founded on March 26, 1946 by three amazing women - Wava Banes Henry, Emily Surrell, and Rosell Williams. It was modeled after the fraternity of Kappa Kappa Psi [today, our brothers in service] but it was especially to provide the important additional social, educational, and other positive experiences needed by women in the band. Today, there have been over 600 chapters established at various instititions around the United States. The Epsilon Epsilon chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at Kutztown University was part of the colony named Kappa Sigma Chi [which included our brothers of Zeta Mu] that was installed on January 20th, 1973. We work together with our brothers on a variety of service projects as well as creating the brother-sister bond as early as the Membership Candidate process. We have also begun work with the organizations of Phi Mu Alpha and Sigma Alpha Iota on campus to coordinate service efforts to serve our music department and our University. As you will notice, our website is dominantly shades of white and blue in color, representing our sorority's national colors. However, the image at the top, while coordinating the rose [our national flower], a sheet of music and our sorority crest, also coordinates another element - a rainbow. The Sisters of Epsilon Epsilon are proud of their true colors, and wear them proudly on their chests as their chapter letters. |
