The National Broadcasting Society - Alpha Epsilon Rho, is a student and professional society found on the campuses of   college, university, community college and high schools.

Through the years, NBS-AERho has remained dedicated to encouraging and rewarding scholarship and accomplishment among students of broadcasting, to establish meaningful communication between student and professional broadcasters and to foster integrity in the use of the powerful instruments of radio, television, film, cable and its' many associated businesses and industries.

The National Broadcasting Society (NBS) goes beyond the classroom to prepare college students and entry-level professionals for careers in the electronic media. The KU Chapter of the National Broadcasting Society is a professional organization for students with career interests in both broadcasting and electronic media.

 The chapter sponsors professional activities such as media field trips and professional speakers at chapter meetings.  Students are also to network with media professionals at the society's regional and national conventions.  Students also have the opportunity to compete for national scholarships and production and scriptwriting awards.
