ATHLETIC EQUIPMENT MANAGER

Kutztown University enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located adjacent to the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Kutztown University Student Services, Inc. (KUSSI) invites applications for the position of Athletic Equipment Manager.  KUSSI is a non-profit affiliate of Kutztown University and is dedicated to enhancing the lives of Kutztown University students.  The Athletic Equipment Manager position is an employee of this non-profit organization.  The position does, however, work within the Athletic Department of Kutztown University.   

Kutztown University sponsors twenty three varsity sports and competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) as an NCAA Division II member.  The Athletic Equipment Manager is responsible for all phases of the athletic equipment operation including purchase, repair, maintenance and inventory of athletic equipment, athletic facilities equipment improvement, and laundry service for the KU Athletic Department. 

In addition, the Athletic Equipment Manager will be responsible for supporting the philosophy, goals, and mission of the Intercollegiate Athletics program as well as adherence to departmental, University, Conference and NCAA policies and procedures.   

Qualifications:  Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.  Minimum three (3) years as an athletic equipment manager, or relevant work experience considered.  Collegiate level experience is preferred.  Experience working with diverse populations is essential.  Working knowledge of personal computers and standard software applications is required. Ability to work long hours including some weekends and occasional over-night travel as needed.  Ability to maneuver equipment as required by the nature of the position.  Successful experience with staff supervision, general administrative duties, fiscal management, and excellent organizational and communications skills required.
