Frequently Asked Questions
Listed below please find answers to many semester specific frequently asked questions regarding the upcoming FALL 2011 semester. If you don’t find what you are looking for, email us! NOTICE - MyKU is now your source for seeing your bill, making payments, registration and more! Students will be emailed by July 13 to their KU email account notifying them that their bill is ready to view and pay (they can print it as well). Paper invoices will NOT be mailed effective March 2011.
When will I get my tuition bill?
Effective March 2011, KU students will receive billing notifications in their KU email. This notification will instruct the student to log into the new system - My KU to view their bill and make their payment by the due date. Students may print these bills if needed for 529/TAP requests, or for employer reimbursement requests. Kutztown University will no longer mail bills home: If you would like to mail in a payment instead of making your payment electronically via e-check (ACH debit from your checking or savings account) or credit card - please use the mailing address below.

I don’t have a class schedule yet – but need to know how much I will
owe?
Our website can be a great tool for this, while some costs may vary by location of the course, our website is great to use for budgeting and loan applications. For the Fall terms, please remember that academic year tuition costs are not set by our Board of Governors until July for the upcoming year (if looking before July 2011, take the 10/11 costs and add about 5% for planning purposes of loans - DON'T delay applying for loans until the rates are set - they take too long to process - apply in June for alt loans). It is easier to decrease a loan than to increase one. Don't forget to account for any potential origination fees lenders may withhold. For more information on loans and lender origination fees - call the Financial Aid office at 610-683-4077.
Why are bills so late in the Fall?
Tuition rates are not set until the Board of Governors meet in mid-July. Once they decide the tuition rates, we will update the system and send e-bill notifications for Fall 2011. How can I pay my bill?
You can pay:
Are there payment plans available?
Sallie Mae is proud to administer payment plans for Kutztown University! Please visit the Sallie Mae website or contact Sallie Mae at 1-800-635-0120 for more information. Click on the Payment Plans tab to your left for more detailed information on the options below.
I am expecting aid (loans, grants or scholarships) and I don’t see it online as a courtesy
credit towards my bill – what’s wrong?
Contact Financial Aid to discuss what their records show at 610-683-4077 or financialaid@kutztown.edu
Do NOT reduce your payment by anticipated loans, if they are not
showing on the bill - we will consider your bill short paid and thus
delinquent - possibly resulting in the loss of a schedule. If
Financial Aid tells you to reduce your payment, they will notify us
and you must write the representatives name on the bill when
submitting. If we don't receive documentation with the bill OR
from Financial Aid, we cannot consider the amount pending arrival. What is a courtesy credit?
All awards are not permanent until funds are actually received and posted (no sooner than the start of the term), therefore all we can show you is the credit of what is expected, as a courtesy. These amounts may change based on eligibility - view online student services or contact Financial Aid if you have made changes of ANY kind. The balance due you see online is what would be if the award or awards is (are) received as listed and you make no changes to your registration, housing or meal plan. We encourage students to review their accounts in the event of changes as we don't send updated bills for any changes. Students receive ONE bill. The NEXT bill will be a LATE bill with a LATE fee. What can affect my financial aid?
ANY changes to your schedule MAY impact the aid you have been awarded or even received (and been refunded). If changes are made after the aid has posted – we may be obligated to return a portion of, or all of your aid based on your change. For this reason, we highly encourage any student making changes or withdrawals to check with the Financial Aid office to discuss your aid situation first, sometimes this could lead to a return of refund due to the University or an amount due not covered by aid.
