Fire Alarm Panel:
Simplex 4100 U Voice Fire Alarm
voice fire alarm system, in addition to providing notification and voice
direction during a fire alarm, provides a public address function that can
effectively be used to communicate to all of the building’s occupants for any
type of emergency, even when building evacuation is not needed. Fire alarm
devices include addressable manual pull stations, smoke and/or heat detection in
corridors, common areas and mechanical spaces, visual/audible notification
devices and integrated detection devices that monitor related systems such as
fire sprinkler systems.
Apartments and residence
sleeping areas are equipped with addressable smoke detector/sounder bases, which
sound in the room to alert the occupant to a possible fire condition. All alarm
conditions sound at the building alarm panel and at the monitoring station
located at the University’s police communications center.
Individual components of the fire alarm system are inspected and tested
biannually, as well as maintained by SimplexGrinnell-certified fire alarm
technicians in accordance with
72, National Fire Alarm Code.
