
Employee Self Service now has
the capability to allow employees to update their “Primary Contact Number”
directly to the SAP Human Capital Management system. (The Human Capital
Management system is where an employee’s ESS human resource master data is
stored.) The “Primary Contact Number” is the relabeled “Home Phone” number shown
on the “Address” screen under the ESS tab “Personal Information”. Employees
have the option to enter their home phone or cell phone number; whichever
represents their main contact number. Employees who have a cell phone number in
the Human Capital Management system will continue to have this number displayed
in ESS (see the following screen shot).
Using
Employee Self Service to change or add Primary Contact Number information:
1. After
logging into ESS, go to the “Personal Information” tab and select “Address”.

2. Click
on the “Update Primary Contact Number” box at the bottom of the screen,
,
and a box will appear for input.

3. Enter
the phone number in the format displayed, then click on ‘Save New Number’. The
updated “Primary Contact Number” will appear immediately in ESS.
ESS allows
multiple changes per day to the “Primary Contact Number”. However, the Human
Capital Management system will only save the last change of the day. The Human
Capital Management system maintains a history of prior primary contact numbers.
