WORK REQUIREMENT & PAYMENTS

Work Requirement
Graduate Assistants (GA’s) are required to work 20 hours per week for 16 weeks per semester.

Fall semester includes Finals week
Spring semester includes either Spring Break OR Finals week
- This is determined and tracked by the department the GA works for.

Payment
GA contracts may include a stipend payment of $7,500 for the academic year. This pre-taxed, gross amount is paid in 10 installments of $375 each per semester.

Fall 2007 – 1st payment is 9/14/2007 and last is 1/18/2008
Spring 2008 – 1st payment is 2/1/2008 and last is 6/6/2008

GA’s must possess a Work Authorization (WA) card in order to have their stipend payments processed and paid. GA’s must visit the Student Payroll office (Stratton Bldg Room 109) and complete new hire tax paperwork and present the necessary documents to complete an I-9 as well as present their social security card in order to obtain the WA card.

Tuition Waiver
