KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY’S KLINE RECEIVES NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGY FELLOWSHIP --- KUTZTOWN, May 15 --- Carly Kline, a Kutztown University junior, has been granted admittance to participate in the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) Gaithersburg, Md., Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF).

KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES 2007 STUDENT LEADER OF THE YEAR --- KUTZTOWN, May 15 --- Senior Amanda Banghart has been named the 2007 Kutztown University Student Leader of the Year.

KU CELEBRATES CUSTODIAL APPRECIATION DAY --- KUTZTOWN, April 25 ---- Often times a custodian is seen as a person who is responsible for the care and maintenance of a building.  While this is true, a custodian is also defined as a person who has custody; a keeper or a guardian. 

KU CHILDREN’S LITERATURE CONFERENCE ACCEPTS $10,000 GRANT FROM VERIZON FOUNDATION --- KUTZTOWN, April 23 --- Kutztown University is proud to announce a grant from Verizon Foundation in the amount of $10,000 for its Ninth Annual Kutztown University Children’s Literature Conference.

KU HOLDS VIGIL FOR VICTIMS OF VIRGINIA TECH TRAGEDY
KUTZTOWN, April 19 --- More than 200 members from the Kutztown University community attended a memorial service and candlelight vigil in memory of the lives lost at Virginia Tech on Wednesday.  Click above to view photos.

BUSINESS SKILLS FOR SUCCESS PROGRAM OFFERED TO AREA VETERANS ---KUTZTOWN, April 6 --- Area veterans interested in starting or growing a business will want to take advantage of the upcoming nine-week program “Veteran Business Skills for Success: Making Your Entrepreneurial Dream a Reality.”

UNIVERSITY TO PREPARE HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN --- KUTZTOWN, April 5 --- Kutztown University has created a Disaster-Resistant University Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee (DRU/HMPC) to assist consultants from URS Corporation in preparing a Hazard Mitigation Plan.

KU STUDENTS EXPERIENCE COMMUNITY-BASED LEARNING WITH THE HELP OF LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS --- KUTZTOWN, March 2007 --- Students in Dr. Charles Cullum’s composition course last fall received an area history lesson as well after being introduced to community-based learning.

KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY LAUNCHES ONLINE TOOLS TO HELP HISPANIC BUSINESSES --- KUTZTOWN, Pa., March 23, 2007 -- Kutztown University Latino Business Resource Center, in partnership with the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Foundation, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of the Lehigh Valley (HCCLV) and the Berks County Latino Chamber of Commerce (BCLCC), this week unveiled two powerful new online courses that will help Hispanic entrepreneurs in Pennsylvania and around the country start and grow their businesses.

68TH ANNUAL PA POLITICAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE HOSTED AT KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY --- KUTZTOWN, March 23 --- The Pennsylvania Political Science Association will host its annual conference on Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31 at Kutztown University.

KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY’S SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM TO HOLD FIFTH ANNUAL COMMUNITY FORUM --- KUTZTOWN, March 22 --- Kutztown University’s Social Work Program will host its annual community forum, “Non-Violent Solutions for Families, Communities, Nations…for all,” on Friday, March 30 at the McFarland Student Union.            

KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY MAKES PRESIDENT BUSH’S HONOR ROLL --- KUTZTOWN, March 20 --- The Corporation for National and Community Service and President George W. Bush both agree; Kutztown University is earning an A when it comes to meeting critical local and national needs through community service and service-learning.

THOMAS HYLTON TO SPEAK AT KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY --- KUTZTOWN, March 20 --- Thomas Hylton, author of Save Our Land, Save Our Towns, will be speaking at Kutztown University on Monday, March 26.

KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY TO HOST HAYDENFILMS 2.0 FILM FESTIVAL ROADSHOW AND SEMINAR --- KUTZTOWN, March 6 --- Kutztown University will host The Haydenfilms 2.0 Film Festival On-The-Road and The Business of Entertainment: Movies and Theater Seminar in the Alumni Auditorium of the McFarland Student Union Building on April 2 and 3, 2007.  

KU AND READING HIGH TO PARTNER THROUGH PHEAA’s ADOPT-A SCHOOL INITIATIVE --- KUTZTOWN, March 2 --- Kutztown University has received a $20,000 grant to partner with Reading High School through the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency’s (PHEAA) Adopt-a-School Initiative.

KU WOMEN’S CENTER AND WOMEN’S STUDIES PROGRAM ANNOUNCE  WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH EVENTS --- KUTZTOWN, March 2 --- The Kutztown University’s Women’s Center and Women’s Studies program will be sponsoring events for Women’s History Month in March.

KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY OFFERS FREE TESTING OF READING SKILLS --- KUTZTOWN, February 26 --- Kutztown University is offering free testing of reading skills to children in grades one through nine who appear to have difficulty with reading. 

KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY STUDENT WINS AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF GRAPHIC ARTS “WEAR YOUR VOICE” T-SHIRT DESIGN COMPETITION --- KUTZTOWN, February 20 – Kutztown University junior communication design student Lori Brader, of Wernersville, Pa., placed first at the “Wear Your Voice” competition sponsored by the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA).

EISNER TO SPEAK AT KU’S DECISION MAKERS FORUM --- KUTZTOWN, February 20 --- Michael D. Eisner, CEO and Chair of the Walt Disney Company from 1984-2005, will be the speaker at the 18th Annual Kutztown University Decision Makers Forum on April 25.

GLADYS LUTZ DONATES COLLECTION TO KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY --- KUTZTOWN, February 19 – Gladys Lutz has donated a collection of paintings and artifacts to The Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center (PGCHC) at Kutztown University.

KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES THE INSTITUTE FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF CHILDREN’S ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH 2007 LECTURE SERIES --- KUTZTOWN, February 9 --- Kutztown University announces The Institute for the Advancement of Children’s Environmental Health 2007 lecture series titled, “A Child’s World.”

KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY AND MONTGOMERY COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE SIGN AN ARTICULATION AGREEMENT --- KUTZTOWN, February 8 --- Kutztown University and Montgomery County Community College signed an articulation agreement on February 5 creating a dual admission core-to-core program between the two schools.

VFW POST 560 ESTABLISHES ENDOWMENT FOR KU STUDENTS --- KUTZTOWN, January 8 --- The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 560 of Kutztown has established a new scholarship for select students at Kutztown University.

KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY HOLDS GROUND BREAKING FOR NEW RESIDENCE HALL --- KUTZTOWN, December 16 --- Kutztown University held a ground breaking ceremony for its new residence hall on December 14 on South Campus.
