Dr. Jeanie Burnett, Department of Elementary Education, attended the National Council of Accreditation for Teacher Education (NCATE) training online, September 2007; the ACEI/NCATE program review meeting, Alexandria, Va., September 2007; the ACEI Executive Board mid-year meeting, Silver Spring/Olney, Md., October 2007; and attended and acted as facilitator for KU Teacher Ambassadors, Keystone State Reading Association Conference, Hershey, October 2007. 

Dr. Richard Courtney, Department of Geography, attended the inaugural meeting of the PASSHE Geographic Information Systems Users Consortium hosted by the Kutztown University Geography Department, September 2007. 

Dr. Mary Ann Dailey, Department of Nursing, attended the 39th Annual Conference of the National Association of School Nurses, Nashville, Tenn., June–July 2007; the fall meeting of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Nursing Schools Association, Harrisburg, October 2007; and the Annual Summit Meeting of the PA State Nurses Association, Harrisburg, October 2007. 

Raymond J. Dalfonso, Department of Special Education, attended the fall workshop of the Northeastern Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Pennsylvania, Lake Harmony, October 2007. 

Dr. Rosemary Fliszar, Department of Nursing, attended the PLN program “Using Human Simulators in a Psychiatric Nursing Course,” October 2007. 

Lisa Frye, Department of Computer Science, attended “Wireless Sensor Networks: Teaching and Learning,” the ACM Special Interest Group on Information Technology Education Annual Conference, Sandestin, Fla., October 2007.

 Jay Gallagher, coordinator of intramurals, Department of Recreational Services, attended the Pennsylvania Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (PIRSA) state workshop, Lewisburg, September 2007. Gallagher is the secretary/treasurer of PIRSA with a term running through 2009. 

Dr. Carrie Gardner, Department of Library Science and Instructional Technology, attended the board of directors meeting of the Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries, State College, October 2007, and the National Conference of the American Association of School Librarians, Reno, Nev., October 2007.

Dr. Elsa Geskus, Department of Elementary Education, attended the PA-NAECTE for Early Childhood, Shippensburg, October 2007, and the 2007 Assessment Institute, Indianapolis, Ind., November 2007. 

Jonathan M. Kremser, Department of Criminal Justice, attended the American Society for Industrial Security Annual Seminar, Las Vegas, September 2007.  

Dr. Mary Laub, Department of Elementary Education, attended the Penn State Writing Project ESL conference, Bethlehem, September 2007. 

Dr. Eloise Long, Department of Library Science and Instructional Technology, attended the National Conference of the American Association of School Librarians in Reno, Nev., October 2007.

Matejik, Department of Nursing, attended:  “On Utilizing Human Simulators in Psychiatric Nursing Courses,” presented by Marcia Cook Love for the Pennsylvania League of Nursing, Kutztown University, October 2007; “Rehabilitation: Benefits for the Older Adults with Special Needs,” presented by Dr. Barbara Jones, Gwynedd-Mercy College, Bethlehem, June 2007; “Discover and Uncover the Facts about Parkinson’s Disease and Parkinson’s Research,” presented by Dr. Donna Miller, gerontologist, Allentown, April 2007; and “Student and Academic Dishonesty and Cheating” presented by Joanne Serenbus for the Pennsylvania League of Nursing, De Sales University, April 2007. 

Dr. Pamela McMullin-Messier, Department of Anthropology/Sociology, attended the annual conference of the American Sociological Association, New York City, August 2007. 

Dr. Marilyn Meder, Department of Nursing, attended the St. John Bosco Conference, St. Francis University, Stuebenville, Ohio, and completed all course work in year one of the Advanced Youth Ministry Program. 

Dr. Susan Moon Meyer, Department of Special Education, attended the fall workshop of the Northeastern Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Pennsylvania, Lake Harmony, October 2007. 

Dr. Marcia Moyer, Department of Elementary Education, attended, as conference chairperson, the Conference for Children’s Authors, at Hershey Lodge and Convention Center, Hershey, October 2007. 

Dr. Mary Ann O’Neil, Department of Elementary Education, attended the Keystone State Reading Association Conference, Hershey, October 2007. 

Ilene Prokup, Department of Nursing, attended the annual meeting of the American Public Health Association, Washington, D.C. on November 2007. 

Dr. Trucilla Sabatino, Department of Music, attended the summer workshop of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Newport, R.I. 

Dr. Loline J. Saras, Department of Special Education, attended the fall workshop of the Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Pennsylvania in Lake Harmony, October 2007.
