Dr.
Kevin Kjos, Department of Music,
was quoted extensively in the Fall 2007 “Jazz Times Education Guide”
under the article “Recording School.” He was interviewed about KU’s
Jazz Studies recording program. Other schools noted include
North Texas State, Berklee College of Music, and the Eastman School
of Music.

Kremser, Department of Criminal Justice,
published “Pennsylvania Justice” with Pearson Prentice Hall, 2008.
Martin Lemelman,
Department of Communication Design,
published the French translation of “Mendel’s Daughter-La Fille
De Mendel” in 2007. He also published “Mendel’s Daughter” in
paperback edition, Free Press, 2007. The original art from “Mendel’s
Daughter” was included in the exhibition “De Superman au Chat Du
Rabbin. Les Juifs et la Bande Dessinée” at the Musée d’art
etd’histoire du Judaïsme in Paris, France, October 2007 – January
2008. The exhibition traveled to the Joods Historisch
Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands and is on display from March
through June 2008.

Kevin McCloskey,
Department of Communication Design,
wrote an essay for Rendezvous: Idaho State University’s Journal
of the Arts, on the Mexican Artists Collective, ASARO.
The essay is published in the Spring 2008 issue and illustrated with
reproductions of woodblock prints from the collection which were on
exhibit at KU’s Rohrbach Library through January 2008.

Skate America” about an international figure skating event, issue

featuring numerous decorators and designers who have donated their
time and talent to professionally designing parts of the Windsor

from the PBS series “Craft in America.” Stewart, Walck, and
Lise Dubé, director of education at the Allentown Art Museum, also
created the educational guides that accompany the PBS series.
Stewart is senior author of the elementary textbook series
“Explorations in Art” published for grades 1-5, Davis Publications,
Worcester, Mass., 2008.

with Jennifer Bottinelli, Department of English, and Dr.
Robert M Gorden, co-authored the paper "MMPI-2 Findings of Primitive
Defenses in Alienating Parents" in The American Journal of Family
Therapy, June 2007.
Dr. Francis J.
Vasko, Department of Mathematics,
and Peter Huegler, Lock Haven University, published the paper
“Metaheuristics for Melt Shop Scheduling in the Steel Industry” in
The Journal of the Operational Research Society, vol. 58, no.
6, pp. 791-796, June 2007. In this paper, they discuss metaheuristic
solutions to the very complex and important logistical problem of
scheduling a melt shop at an integrated steel plant.
