Dr. Eric Johnson, Department of History, published “Libertines and Liberty: State Justice and Changing Regimes in the Eighteenth-Century,” “A Review of Lawrence Bongie,” “From Rogue to Everyman: A Foundling’s Journal to the Bastille and David Andress,” and “The Terror: The Merciless War for Freedom in Revolutionary France,” in the journal Eighteenth Century Studies. 

Dr. Patricia Kelleher, Department of History, published the book reviews “Review of Sex Among the Rabble: An Intimate History of Gender and Power in the Age of Revolution, Philadelphia, 1730-1830,” by Clare A. Lyons in Pennsylvania History: A Journal of Mid-Atlantic Studies and “Review of The Paddy Camps: The Irish Lowell, 1821-61” by Brian C. Mitchell, an H-Net Book Review, published by H-Urban.

 Dr. Kevin Kjos, Department of Music, was quoted extensively in the Fall 2007 “Jazz Times Education Guide” under the article “Recording School.” He was interviewed about KU’s Jazz Studies recording program. Other schools noted include North Texas State, Berklee College of Music, and the Eastman School of Music. 

Jonathan M. Kremser, Department of Criminal Justice, published “Pennsylvania Justice” with Pearson Prentice Hall, 2008. 

Martin Lemelman, Department of Communication Design, published the French translation of “Mendel’s Daughter-La Fille De Mendel” in 2007. He also published “Mendel’s Daughter” in paperback edition, Free Press, 2007. The original art from “Mendel’s Daughter” was included in the exhibition “De Superman au Chat Du Rabbin. Les Juifs et la Bande Dessinée” at the Musée d’art etd’histoire du Judaïsme in Paris, France, October 2007 – January  2008. The exhibition traveled to the Joods Historisch Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands and is on display from March through June 2008. 

Dr. Joseph Lippincott, Department of Counseling and Psychological Services, co-edited “Special Populations in College Student Counseling: A Handbook for Clinicians,” American Counseling Association Press, Alexandria, Va., 2007. 

Kevin McCloskey, Department of Communication Design, wrote an essay for Rendezvous:  Idaho State University’s Journal of the Arts, on the Mexican Artists Collective, ASARO. The essay is published in the Spring 2008 issue and illustrated with reproductions of woodblock prints from the collection which were on exhibit at KU’s Rohrbach Library through January 2008. 

Julianne Nolan, director of Community Relations and Development Services, published in Berks County Living magazine “Reading to Welcome Back Skate America” about an international figure skating event, issue 10, pg. 9, October  2007, and “Tragedy to Treasure: Decorator Show House Spotlights A Host Of Signature Styles” about a charity event featuring numerous decorators and designers who have donated their time and talent to professionally designing parts of the Windsor Street House, issue 10, pp. 48-60, October 2007.  

Dr. Carrie Nordlund, Department of Art Education and Crafts, published “Epiphanal Reflection as Research Method” in S. McGuire (ed.) Zurmuehlen’s “Working Papers in Art Education,” University of Iowa, 2007. 

Melissa Nurczynski, Department of English, published, “My Hometown: Aruba" under her pen name Melissa Marshall in the October 2007 issue of Budget Travel magazine.  

Dr. Winnie Peterson, Department of Mathematics, with Jane Murphy Wilburne of Penn State Harrisburg, published “Using a Before-During-After Model to Plan Effective Secondary Mathematics Lessons” in Mathematics Teacher, vol. 101, no. 3, pp. 209-213, October 2007. 

Ilene Prokup, Department of Nursing, co-authored the peer-reviewed journal article “Colorectal Cancer Incidence and Mortality in Northeastern Pennsylvania” for the Journal of Registry Management, vol. 34, no. 3, pp. 99-105. 

Dr. Cristine J. Dr. Marilyn Stewart, Department of Art Education, with Kathleen Walck, co-authored a series of articles for “School Arts 2007-08” in which they highlight artists and artworks from the PBS series “Craft in America.” Stewart, Walck, and Lise Dubé, director of education at the Allentown Art Museum, also created the educational guides that accompany the PBS series. Stewart is senior author of the elementary textbook series “Explorations in Art” published for grades 1-5, Davis Publications, Worcester, Mass., 2008.   

Dr. Ronald Stoffey, Department of Psychology, with Jennifer Bottinelli, Department of English, and Dr. Robert M Gorden, co-authored the paper "MMPI-2 Findings of Primitive Defenses in Alienating Parents" in The American Journal of Family Therapy, June 2007. 

Dr. Francis J. Vasko, Department of Mathematics, and Peter Huegler, Lock Haven University, published the paper “Metaheuristics for Melt Shop Scheduling in the Steel Industry” in The Journal of the Operational Research Society, vol. 58, no. 6, pp. 791-796, June 2007. In this paper, they discuss metaheuristic solutions to the very complex and important logistical problem of scheduling a melt shop at an integrated steel plant. 

Dr. Carol Watson, Department of Elementary Education, published “Pen Pals Letter Exchanges: Taking First Steps Toward Developing Cultural Understandings” in The Reading Teacher, September 2007. 

Dr. Todd O. Williams, Department of English, published the note “Reading Rossetti’s ‘The Mirror’ through Lacan’s Mirror Stage,” in The Explicator; published the article “Teaching Morris’s Early Dream Poems through the Three Registers” in The Journal of William Morris Studies, November 2007; and published “Christina Rossetti’s Faithful Imagination,” a review of Dinah Roe’s book, in The Journal of Pre-Raphaelite Studies, November 2007.
