Agenda & minutes approved unanimously.

Acceptable Use Policy

Discussion centered on issues in the version that returned from legal services last school year. There was concern that there was no distinction between faculty files and those of staff. D. Spiegel expressed concern for academic freedom, and that the table on page 4 regarding who may authorize access is also a concern. D. Crider noted that there is language regarding this in the CBA. D. Spiegel will research and report back at Oct. 21 meeting.

 C. Roth noted concern regarding use of term and authorize in language on last page: In any case involving campus (Public Safety), local, state, or federal law enforcement investigation, the Manager of Public Safety or the Assistant Manager of Public Safety may request and authorize disclosure of information This requires further clarity.

This issue is tabled until the next meeting.

Personal Response Systems

 W. Jefferson presented a brief history of this project. He updated the committee on events during the summer, including the need to go from Quizdom to CalComp due to logistical issues. In the end, the agreement with the vendor called for $35 per clicker. The bookstore charged students $47. R. Zera noted that pilots at other institutions (Millersville) were under the same terms. CJ Rhoads expressed concerns, as she recalled discussion about use of tech fee to subsidize clickers for pilot. L. McGhee noted his recollection that this discussion did occur, but that it ended when he noted that students couldn’t hold the devices. It was also noted that the devices are personalized, so having the instructor keep them was not a good way to pilot them. The bookstore will refund the $35 if the pilot fails, or allow sellbacks at their usual 50% ($23.50) if the pilot succeeds. D. Crider noted that we need to get feedback from the pilot participants, and also expressed kind words of commendation towards the efforts of W. Jefferson and D. Spiegel.

Strategic Plan Implementation

No committee reports; committees will begin meeting soon. We will ask new committee members to take the place of departed members of subcommittees. R. Zera volunteered to serve on any of the subcommittees.

Technology Use Survey

 M. Hudzina, the author, has departed, but L. McGhee, who worked on this with her and W. Jefferson, stated he might have an electronic copy. We would like to use this as a tool to accumulate needed feedback from fellow faculty.

College ATC Reports

No meetings have occurred yet. No reports.

IT Report

Thanks to R. Zera. D. Spiegel made note regarding having heard from faculty with last names over 8 letters. He will discuss further with R. Miller.
