Falls in PSAC Semifinals
SHIPPENSBURG, PA - Kutztown's hopes
for a PSAC title came to an end with a tough 5-4 loss to California
(PA) in a semifinal match at Shippensburg's Robb Sports Complex.
California took a 2-1 lead after
doubles, winning #1 and #3. KU's sole doubles point came from
the team of Magaly Peter and Jharna Nansi at second
doubles. The teams then split the singles matches, with KU
winning #2, #3 and #6. Peter won in three sets at #2, while
Priya Pachkawde won at #3 and Kristen Bodalski won at #6.
The Golden Bears, who fall to 10-3
with the loss, are scheduled to play the consolation match against
Slippery Rock at 1:00 PM Saturday, weather and time permitting.
