Patterson |
Madonna Patterson
was named the Outstanding Track Athlete as the Golden Bear women
defended their team crown at the Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference (PSAC) Indoor Championships. The Kutztown men
finished in fourth place overall.
Patterson
won the 800m with a time of 2:17.02 and was part of the winning
4x800m relay (9:33.43) and the 4x400m relay that finished second
(3:59.28). Alison Maurer
set a meet record in the 20-lb. weight with a throw of 55-4.
Danielle Mousley,
Janelle Kostishion
and Chelsea Thomas
were also part of the champion 4x800m team. The women totaled
105 team points, 25 better than second place Lock Haven.
The men's team was led by Kareef
Wallace, who won the 55m,
and shot put champion Steve Tyson.
Wallace
sprinted a 6.45 to win the 55m, and Tyson
had a winning throw of 52-1 1/4 in the shot put. The Golden
Bears finished with 73.5 points, just 7.5 points behind third place
Slippery Rock. Shippensburg won the men's title with 125
points, followed by Lock Haven with 101.
