2003 PSAC Championships

Men: 7th/14 — The KU men tallied 204 points to finish seventh at the PSAC Championships. Joel Smith (sr. Lebanon/Cedar Crest) was the top finisher, running 8K in 27:20, good for 19th place. Keith Gruchacz (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) finished 27th with his time of 27:40. Gerard Ganey (fr. Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) became the Golden Bears third finisher, placing 48th, when he crossed the finish line at 28:17. Pat Coyne (fr. Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) ran a 28:20 to finish 52nd overall. Rounding out the scoring for KU was Dan Wilde (fr. New Cumberland/Cedar Cliff), who placed 58th with a time of 28:35. Lock Haven won the team title with 39 points, followed by Edinboro (57), Millersville and Bloomsburg (93), Indiana (PA) (175), Slippery Rock (187) and KU (204).

Men: 10th/24 — The Kutztown men placed tenth with 275 points, as the host Lock Haven held off Edinboro for the team title with 70 points. Joel Smith (sr. Lebanon/Cedar Crest) was KU's top finisher on the 10K course, placing 32nd in 33:23. Keith Gruchacz (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) was 51st with his time of 33:56. Finishing four places later was Gerard Ganey (fr. Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) in 34:04. Pat Coyne (fr. Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) traversed the course in 34:24 to finish 67th. Rounding out the top five was Dave Tidey (jr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan), who was 70th in 34:31. Edinboro's Aaron Rowe won the individual crown with his time of 31:11.
