2003 PSAC Championships

— Molly Lare (fr. Bethlehem/Liberty - see
Athlete
of the Week) finished seventh overall to earn
All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) honors, as the
Golden Bears finished fourth at the PSAC Championships. Edinboro won
the team title with 57 points, followed by Indiana (PA) with 65,
East Stroudsburg with 114 and then KU with 125. Lare completed
the 6K run in 23:28. Erin Peiffer (sr. New
Providence/Solanco) was KU's second finisher, placing 19th in
24:13. Finishing in 28th place was Desiree Bower (fr. Bethel/Tulpehocken)
with a time of 24:34. Madonna Patterson (so.
Philadelphia/William Penn) and Jessie Spence (sr. East
Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg) ran identical 27:42's to finish in
36th and 37th respectively.
2003 NCAA East
Regional
at Lock Haven University, Lock Haven, PA
November 8, 2003
Women: 4th/24 —
Molly Lare (fr. Bethlehem/Liberty) earned All-Region honors
after placing sixth at the NCAA East Regional. The Golden Bears
finished fourth as a team with 140 points, behind Edinboro (50), IUP
(79) and East Stroudsburg (113). Lare finished the 6K race in
22:17 to finish sixth. Mindy Sawtelle of IUP won the individual
title in 21:05. KU's next finisher was Erin Peiffer (sr. New
Providence/Solanco), who placed 29th in 23:16. Madonna
Patterson (so. Philadelphia/William Penn) was just a step behind
Peiffer, finishing 30th in 23:17. Jessie Spence (sr. East
Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg) placed 39th and Niya Adams (sr.
King of Prussia/Upper Merion) was 42nd to complete the Golden
Bears top five. Spence ran a 23:26, while Adams needed 23:31
to complete the course.
