EVANSVILLE, IN – Kutztown’s women’s cross country team placed 18th at the NCAA Division II National Championships at the University of Southern Indiana Saturday.

 

            KU scored 419 team points for the 18th place finish, a one-spot improvement for the Golden Bears over their previous two showings at the national event.  KU placed 19th in 2000 and 2001, the only other times the Bears had advanced to the championship.

 

            Molly Lare paced the Golden Bears, placing 51st overall with a time of 23:21.9 on the 6K course.  Madonna Patterson (93rd) ran a 24:12.2, while Chelsea Thomas (94th) ran a 24:12.6.  Danielle Mousley (125th/24:38.8) and Stephanie Williams (150th/25:16.0) rounded out KU’s scorers. 

 

            Adams State won the team title with 31 points.  Edinboro (PA) was second with 101.
