Kutztown places best-ever 15th
at NCAA Championships
POMONA, CA – Kutztown University’s women’s
cross country team recorded its best-ever finish at the NCAA
Division II National Championships on Saturday.
Kutztown placed 15th out of 24 teams, bettering
last year’s top finish of 18th. KU scored 364 team points. Adams
State won the national title with 54 points. Indiana (PA) was the
top Pennsyvlania team, placing 10th (323), while Edinboro (351) was
13th.
The Golden Bears were led by Julie
Karaszkiewicz, who placed 51st overall with a time of
23:11.3 on the 6K course. Joanna Horstmann was 60th in
23:25.2, while Desiree Bower finished 97th in 24:06.9.
Cheryl Dingman (110th, 24:24.3) and Chelsea Thomas (124th,
24:37.4) rounded out KU’s top five. Other KU finishers included
Erica Kabbeko (132nd, 24:46.8) and Stephanie Williams
(155th, 25:28.6)
