Women place 2nd/13 while Men finish 9th/14
Four Women Earn All-Conference
BLOOMSBURG, PA- The Kutztown women's
cross country team tied for a best-ever finish of second and had four runners earn All-Conference at the
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships Saturday
morning at Bloomsburg, PA. The men finished ninth.
Joanna Horstmann finished
first for Kutztown, seventh overall, in 23:41. Stephanie
Williams placed ninth (23:48). Desiree Bower placed
14th (24:09) and Chelsea Thomas was 17th (24:12) to earn
All-Conference.
Maureen Watson finished
21st (24:23), Cheryl Dingman was 29th (25:04) and Lauren
Ayers placed 52nd (26:01).
Edinboro placed first in the women's
6k with 61 points. Kutztown was second with 68 points and
Slippery Rock was third with 88 points. Bloomsburg was fourth with
125 points and
Indiana (PA) was fifth with 147 points.
Pat Bone led the KU men, finishing in
25th place with a time of 27:31 in the 8K. Dan Wilde finished in
39th (27:51) and Joe Haughey finished 42nd (27:57). Rounding
out the top seven for the men are Tony Skiles in 49th (28:13),
Pat Coyne in
59th (28:31), John Pyne in 76th (29:25) and Pat McKeever
in 85th
(30:00).
Lock Haven came in first in the men's
8K run with 45 points. Edinboro placed second with 100 points and
Clarion was third with 107 points. Slippery Rock was ahead of KU
with 205 points for eighth, KU had 209 points for ninth. West
Chester
was tenth with 243 points.
