KU'S HORSTMANN FINISHES 50TH AT NCAA DIVISION II CHAMPIONSHIPS
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. —
Joanna Horstmann (sr.
Downingtown/Downingtown West) closed out her cross
country career at
Kutztown University with a 50th-place finish at the NCAA Division II
Championships Saturday at Slippery Rock University.

Horstmann, the lone
KU representative in a field of 189 women, ran the 6K course in
23:02. She now has finished 46th, 48th, 50th and 69th at the
NCAA Division II Championships in her four years.
The KU senior runner
became the first student-athlete in school history to earn
All-PSAC and All-Region honors four times.
Horstmann is a PSAC Scholar-Athlete,
who also owns KU records in the indoor track and field distance medley relay
(12:23.97) and the 3,200-meter relay (9:25.73).

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. —
Joanna Horstmann (sr.
Downingtown/Downingtown West) will represent the
Kutztown University women’s cross country at the NCAA Division II
Championships Saturday at Slippery Rock University.
Horstmann, the only four-time All-PSAC
and All-Region runner in KU history, placed fifth overall with a
time of 22:08 at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regionals on Nov. 8.
Her best finish at an NCAA
Championship meet was as a freshman when she placed 46th. She
finished 48th last year and 69th as a sophomore.
She has set course records at the
following meets: Paul Short Invitational (21:53), Salisbury
Invitational (21:58) and Lafayette Leopard Invitational (21:16).
