State's Cal Bailey Field.

Mike McCardell was 3-of-4 with a double. Kyle Sadlowski
(9-4) took the loss for KU, going 6.1 innings with five strikeouts.
WCU jumped ahead in the first on a
two-out, RBI single by Joey Yeager to drive in Nate Guers.
Mike LaRosa was thrown out at home on the play, trying to score when
the throw from right field got past Kuklick at the plate.
Kuklick tied the score in the
third with his one-out homer to left, but WCU answered with a run in
the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. John
Molineux singled, stole second and scored on a single by Guers.
The Rams broke it open with a
two-out, three-run rally in the sixth. Sadlowski issued
a two-out walk to Ben White, who scored on a double by Dan Toner.
Toner scored on a single by Ryan Flynn and Flynn came home on a base
hit by Molyneux.
After two hit batters in the seventh,
Sadlowski gave way to Phillip Rummel. WCU iced
the game with an RBI double by Yeager, a run on a wild pitch and a
two-run homer by Brett Wallace.
Kutztown falls to the loser's bracket
of the double-elimination tournament, and will face Slippery Rock at

Kutztown advances to face loser of Saturday's Game 4 (West Chester/WVState)
on Saturday at 4:00 PM. KU sets school record with 39th win
Complete Box
Score
INSTITUTE, WV - Jeff Craig's
two-out single over the left fielder's head drove in Gary
Stricker for the winning run as Kutztown survived a thrilling
5-4 decision over Slippery Rock in game three of the NCAA Division
II North Atlantic Regional at West Virginia State.
The win was KU's school record 39th
of the season, while the loss sent Slippery Rock (31-15) home after
losing its second game of the tournament. SRU lost to West
Virginia State, 14-3, earlier in the day.
Craig was 2-for-5, extending
his hitting streak to eight games. Kyle Costello was
2-for-3 with a home run. Josh Fink was 1-for-4 with a
homer, two runs and two RBI.
KU was inches away from being
eliminated from the tournament moments before Craig's
heroics. Tony Riegel reached first on a one-out
throwing error by SRU third baseman Chase Rowe. KU's next
batter Josh Fink barely beat out a potential game-ending
double play to keep the Bears' hopes alive. After Gary
Stricker was hit by a pitch to move Fink into scoring
position, Clay Kuklick laced the first pitch he saw to left
field to score Fink and tie it at 4-4.
Slippery Rock starter Dan Herisko was
relieved by Nick Armstrong to face Craig. Craig
lined a shot to left field that seemed playable, but left fielder
Travis Trimbur, who had entered the game as a pinch runner in the
top of the ninth, misjudged it. The ball sailed over his head,
and Stricker came around from second to score the game
winner.
The rally capped an emotional,
see-saw contest.
Kutztown took a 2-0 lead in the
second on a two-run home run by Fink that just cleared the
left field wall. It was Fink's third of the season.
SRU knotted the score in the third on a two-run homer by Rowe.
The Rock then went up in the fourth on a solo home run by Dave Gonos.
The score remained that way until the
bottom of the eighth, when Costello blasted his team-leading
eighth dinger deep to left center. Costello's shot
snapped a string of eight-straight batters retired by Herisko.
SRU answered in the top of the ninth.
The Rock took advantage of a costly leadoff error, as short stop
Stricker couldn't handle a grounder by Brad Wilson.
Matt Keller relieved KU starter Matt Maradeo. After
a sacrifice, Ty Wilson drove the other Wilson in on a single up the
middle just past the diving Fink at second.
Keller was the winning
pitcher, improving to 11-1. His 11 victories are second-most
in a single season at KU. Herisko (5-2) took the loss.
The Golden Bears advance to game 5 of
the tournament, and will face the loser of Saturday's game 4 between
West Chester and West Virginia State on Saturday, one hour after the
completion of the first game. The winner of that contest
advances to Sunday's championship round vs. the winner of game 4.

State.

Saturday.
Kutztown managed just six hits off

with Kuklick advancing to third. Mike McCardell
drove Kuklick in on a groundout to second, but Craig was
stranded at third.
Kutztown loaded the bases with two
down in the seventh, but Jeff Craig popped to third to end
the threat. The Bears had just one base runner after that, as
WCU added a solo homer in the eight by Drew Pare, and a seven-spot
in the ninth to cap the scoring.
Matt Keller (11-2) took the
loss, going seven innings, allowing 10 hits and five runs, four
earned. Philip Rummel and Marshall Mirarchi
pitched an inning each in relief.
Kutztown's season comes to a close
with a school record 39 wins. Seniors Tony Riegel,
Kuklick, Phil Cavalcante, Scott Senna,
Koropchak and Mirarchi played in their final game for KU.
The seniors recorded 137 wins over their four seasons, a school
record for a four-year period.
Kuklick ends his career ranked
third at KU in games played (188), fourth in at-bats (562), fourth
in runs (124), fifth in hits (176) and the school record holder in
times hit by pitch (43). Koropchak ends his four years
ranked fifth in RBI (102).
