“GOLD OUT” AT KEYSTONE HALL FOR
PSAC BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS TUESDAY
On Tuesday, March 4 at 7
p.m., the KU men's basketball team will host a first-round PSAC
Playoff Game against Millersville at Keystone Hall. It will be "Gold Out" night, with all
fans asked to wear gold in support of the Golden Bears. Gold
T-Shirts will be given to the first 250 KU students in attendance.
In addition, rally towels will be given to the first 250 KU fans.
Ticket Information
Admission is free for KU students and all PSAC students with a valid ID. Admission is $7
for adults and $2 for non-KU students. Please note, since this is a PSAC
championship event, no passes or season tickets can be honored.

Millersville Knocks Kutztown from PSAC Playoffs

Charlie Parker scored 27 points to lead Millersville
to a 99-88 win over Kutztown in the first round of the Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament at Keystone
Hall Tuesday night.
Parker
hit four of Millersville's 11 3-pointers on the night, as the
Marauders were 11-of-16 from the 3-point arc. Cory Bray was
5-of-8 and scored 17 points. Reggie Bates had 18 points, while RayQuan Miles and Bernard Brown both had double-doubles with 12
points and 10 rebounds for Miles, and 12 and 11 for Brown.
Stephen Dennis scored 22 points for KU. Andre Woodlin
added 18 and Dave Ben scored 16. Ryan Washington
had 12 points and 12 boards, while Nate Edwards scored 10.
Millersville advances to face Edinboro, who defeated IUP 72-56 on
Tuesday. Cheyney will host the final four and will face the
winner of the California (Pa.)/Clarion quarterfinal.
The
difference in the game was from beyond the arc, where KU hit just
3-of-16 shots. Millersville also had a 23-9 advantage on
second-chance points.
The
first half was a raucous back-and-forth 20 minutes, in front of an
energized 1,950 fans at Keystone Hall. There were seven lead
changes and five ties before the teams went into the locker room
tied at 45.
The
first five minutes of the second half was more of the same, with
five lead changes and three ties. Millersville finally took
control with a 12-2 run over a four-minute span for a 67-58
lead with 11:14 to play. Brown scored six straight points
during the run.
The
Golden Bears whittled the lead to 72-69 on a layup by Washington
with 7:52 left, but the Marauders answered with a 9-2 run for a
double-digit lead with 4:10 to play.
KU had
one last run. Down 88-78 with 2:10 to play, Woodlin and
Edwards hit 3-pointers, sandwiched around two free throws by Millersville's
Parker. Woodlin added a pair of free throws with 1:24
remaining that made it 90-86.
Parker
missed on Millersville's ensuing possession, but Miles tipped in the rebound.
After a KU miss, Brown's dunk made it an eight-point game.
Millersville then hit 5-of-6 from the line in the final minute to
seal it.
KU's season comes to a close with a 19-9 record, second most
wins in school history. The team also won a share of the PSAC
East title for the first time since 1988.
